Al-Hamadi Abdullah al-Dussari is Taha's real name, according to the Saudi newspaper Al Watan. He is a Saudi national.

On Saturday morning, September 15, 2007, the Lebanese government announced that the country’s army captured Salim Abu Taha and three more of the radical Islamist group’s members outside the Beddawi Palestinian camp northeast of Tripoli

Despite an earlier report from the Lebanese newspaper, al Akhbar that Taha was believed to have been shot dead when the Army finally took over the Nahr el-Bared camp on September 2, 2007, there was no verification of this.
